TEAM OVERVIEW
A New Name. The Same Braves Tradition.
Triple-A baseball arrived in Gwinnett in 2009 when the Richmond Braves relocated from Richmond, Virginia to Lawrenceville, Georgia. The move brought the highest level of the Braves' minor league system much closer to Atlanta and began a new chapter for the organization.
The team originally played as the Gwinnett Braves before adopting the Gwinnett Stripers name prior to the 2018 season. The Stripers identity was inspired by the region's connection to striped bass fishing, particularly around nearby Lake Lanier.
Gwinnett continues to serve as the final level of the Braves farm system before the major leagues, giving many players their last developmental stop before reaching Atlanta. The franchise has also enjoyed postseason success, including International League South Division titles in 2016 and 2019.

Gwinnett wins its first International League South Division title and advances to the Governors' Cup Championship Series.

ABOUT GWINNETT FIELD
Gwinnett Field has been home to the Braves' Triple-A affiliate since the club relocated to Lawrenceville in 2009. The first game at the ballpark was played on April 17, 2009, when Norfolk defeated Gwinnett 7-4.
The ballpark currently has a listed capacity of 10,115. Its symmetrical outfield measures 335 feet down both foul lines, 375 feet to each power alley and 400 feet to center field.
