TEAM OVERVIEW
Professional baseball returned to Augusta in 1988 with a new South Atlantic League franchise. Over the decades that followed, the organization developed a long history in the region and eventually became known as the Augusta GreenJackets.
The GreenJackets have enjoyed championship success throughout their history, capturing South Atlantic League titles in 1995, 1999 and 2008 while developing numerous players who later advanced to the Major Leagues.
A major new chapter began in 2018 when the GreenJackets moved across the Savannah River into SRP Park in North Augusta. The franchise later entered the Braves player-development system, continuing Augusta's long tradition as an important starting point for young professional players.

Augusta captures the South Atlantic League championship, beginning a run that would also include league titles in 1999 and 2008.
2008
ANOTHER TITLE
The GreenJackets win another South Atlantic League championship, completing a 3-0 championship-series victory over West Virginia.
2018
THE SRP PARK ERA
The GreenJackets begin play at newly opened SRP Park in North Augusta. The inaugural season produces a franchise attendance record.

ABOUT SRP PARK
SRP Park became the home of the Augusta GreenJackets in 2018, opening a new era for professional baseball in the Augusta area. The ballpark was developed as part of the Riverside Village project in North Augusta.
The GreenJackets played their first game at SRP Park on April 12, 2018 against the Lexington Legends. A crowd of 5,919 attended the inaugural game.
During its first season, SRP Park received national recognition, including being named Ballpark Digest's 2018 Ballpark of the Year.
ROAD TO ATLANTA
FROM AUGUSTA TO ATLANTA
Since becoming part of the Braves organization, Augusta has served as an important early stop for young players beginning their climb through the farm system. These former GreenJackets continued that journey and eventually reached the Major Leagues with Atlanta.

SPENCER STRIDER
RHP
Strider began the 2021 season with Augusta and made four starts before beginning a rapid climb through the Braves system. He reached every full-season level that year before making his Major League debut with Atlanta.

AJ SMITH-SHAWVER

Smith-Shawver spent the 2022 season with Augusta before making one of the fastest climbs in the organization the following year. He advanced through High-A, Double-A and Triple-A before reaching Atlanta.

DYLAN DODD
LHP
Dodd joined Augusta shortly after being drafted by Atlanta in 2021. He moved through Rome, Double-A and Triple-A before earning a spot with the Braves and making his Major League debut in 2023.
