Ethan Bagwells High A Debut

The 20 year old RHP Ethan Bagwell made his High A debut for the Rome Emperors last week on Wednesday. Bagwell had an impressive outing against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, where he pitched 6 innings and gave up only 5 hits and 0 runs. His fastball consistently hit 94, and his slider resulted in several ground balls for easy outs. His only walk of the night came in the first inning showing that his command of his pitches is something to be excited about. Overall a very solid outing for the right handed pitcher making his first start in High A, adding another name to the list of Atlanta Braves pitching prospects to look out for in the future.

Braun Sets Clingstones Single Game Record

Coming off a dominating start a week ago, Braves right hand pitcher Lucas Braun took the mound against the Birmingham Barons this past Wednesday and had a record break performance. Braun helped the Columbus Clingstones to a 3-2 victory while pitching 7 innings and giving up only 2 runs. His confidence was key in the game getting ahead of the hitters and was able to put them away. He found the strike zone very well throwing 95 pitches, 70 of which were strikes. Braun is known for his ability to not give up any free bases. He had zero walks the complete 7 innings he pitched. The highlight of the night came in the 7th inning when he struck the batter out looking to record his single game franchise breaking 12 strikeouts. Overall, this was another great outing for Braun and shortly after got the well deserved call up to Triple A Gwinnett.
